• University/College Degree in a related field from the US/UK

• Recent graduate or candidates with less than 3 years of experience may be considered who have strong credentials and law‑related internship experience.
Responsibilities
• Supporting the Senior Privacy Officer in carrying out their day‑to‑day duties, including reviewing contracts and projects to identify and address data privacy issues, drafting policies and procedures that enforce compliance with legislation, and supporting on periodic training and awareness relevant to data protection.
• Assisting with drafting policies and procedures that enforce compliance with legislation, supporting in communications with data subjects, and conducting research to keep up to date on developments in data privacy laws and regulations that impact DET and its affiliated group entities (collectively, DUBAI DET).
• Assisting with conducting data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and being the point of contact for DUBAI DET staff and Data Protection Champions on all data privacy matters.
• Delivering training sessions and programmes of awareness‑raising to foster a data privacy culture for all staff and other relevant stakeholders.
• Identifying and evaluating DUBAI DET’s data processing activities, maintaining records of processing operations, and providing advice and instructions to staff on compliance with Data Protection policies and procedures.
• Monitoring compliance with data protection procedures, implementing compliance with the privacy governance framework within DUBAI DET, and conducting personal data mapping exercises, including developing related templates.
• Assisting in determining if alterations or additional protections are required to comply with regulations during audits.
• Writing and updating detailed guidance documents on data protection policies and procedures.
• Reviewing policies, procedures, processes, guidelines and privacy statements to meet requirements under data protection regulations, including GDPR and any data localisation or transfer requirements.
• Liaising with other organisations that process data on DUBAI DET’s behalf or are involved in data sharing to ensure compliance.
• Keeping up to date on changes in law and providing feedback/recommendations on potential impacts on DUBAI DET to ensure compliance.
• Pursuing and maintaining relevant qualifications/certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM and CIPT.
• Maintaining detailed records of research, advice, recommendations and correspondence related to data protection or privacy matters.
• Drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial agreements that involve the processing of personal data.
• Implementing data protection policies and developing policies, procedures, processes and guidance, including using privacy management technology and tools to improve operational efficiencies.
• Investigating and advising on privacy incidents or complaints, undertaking reporting and remedial actions as necessary.
• Driving the implementation of essential elements of DPIAs such as the principles of data processing, data subjects’ rights, data protection by design and by default, records of processing activities, security of processing, and notification of personal data breaches.
• Responding to data subjects to inform them about how their personal data is being used and what measures DUBAI DET has put in place to protect it.
• Reporting any failure to comply with the GDPR or applicable data protection regulations.
• Working with key stakeholders to enhance the process for privacy impact assessments for greater efficiency and robustness.
• Working with key internal stakeholders to review personal data processing projects to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
